Olympus Launches PEN Mirrorless Compact Cameras
Japanese opto-medical instruments maker, Olympus, launched a new generation of its PEN mirrorless compact cameras, with additions like the world's fastest auto focus and an improved image sensor.
A standard kit of PEN E-P3, the flagship model in the new series, is priced at Rs 39,999, while the dual lens kit which also includes a 40-150-mm lens will be available for Rs 44,999, the company said.
The new range of cameras, which was launched worldwide today, also includes PEN Lite E-PL3 and PEN Mini E-PM1 and will hit the Indian market starting mid-July, it added.
"The new range has world's fastest auto focus, the TruePic VI image processor , high sensitivity and high speed live MOS Sensor and Full HD video capabilities," Olympus Senior Manager ( Asia Sales Group )) Akira Fukui told reporters here after the launch.
The company also felicitated celebrated photojournalist Raghu Rai and the country's first woman photojournalist Homai Vyarawala at the launch event.
Rai said being compact, this range of cameras will help photographers like him to shoot candidly in crowded places and hence help in getting the best moods, without compromising on the image quality as they produce SLR-like images.
The PEN series, which derives its name from the compact size to fit in a pocket, was first introduced by Olympus in 1959 and the series launched today is the third generation of the PEN cameras.

According to reports not confirmed by the company, the cellphone maker is expected to soon officially announce Galaxy Z aka I9103, which is already up for pre-orders at Three store in Sweden.
Sporting a 4.2-inch SC-LCD (Super Clear LCD) capacitive touchscreen, the smartphone is powered by 1 GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. In comparison, Galaxy SII features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen and has a 1.2 GHz dual-core Exynos.
Running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Galaxy Z will come with 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash and a second front facing camera. The 5 megapixel shooter is capable of 720p video recording. Galaxy SII features a 8 megapixel camera and 1080p HD video.
Galaxy Z's other key features include Stereo FM Radio with RDS, 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS support, Bluetooth 3.0 + HS and 3.5 mm audio jack.
It will come with 8GB internal storage, expandable up to 32GB.

RIM BlackBerry PlayBook Review

Creative ZiiO 7" Entertainment Tablet - Reviews
Creative is not the music player giant that was a few years ago (my first MP3 player was a Creative Nomad Jukebox), eclipsed all competitors were on Apple iPod devices. Shelves market in full development, however, presents a new opportunity to be creative, well, creative. The Creative ZiiO 7 "($ 249.99) is a tablet designed for music fans in mind, and has a number of improvements over other tablets Android. The price is right, but many questions the ZiiO make it difficult to recommend a tablet or as a music device.
Show ZiiO Tablet is available in two models, a 7-inch screen (white) or 10-inch monitor (black), each of which is to select 8 or 16 GB of space on board. My test unit had a 7-inch, the 8GB model, and to 8.16 from 5.24 by 0.54 inches (HWD) and 14.4 ounces, it is much bigger than some of the other 7-inch tablet, such as Galaxy Tab ($ 399.99) or Dell Streak 7 ($ 199.99) Lots of extra dimensions is due to a large enough ZiiO frame around the screen, which really makes the display appear smaller than other devices of the size of the screen.
In addition, this screen: This is an LCD screen 800 x 480, and is resistive and capacitive. The display makes images and video are weak, and is more prone to glare than any pill I've used. In fact, it makes use of ZiiO difficult at times. No chance of a pinch zoom and multi-touch, and often had to press a button two or three times to get it to register. The screen is the most important feature of any tablet, and while displaying the ZiiO was probably sacrificed to keep costs low, not worth the commitment.

Creative uses the apt-X codec, with its X-Fi, to improve the sound of music, videos and even games. X-Fi effects are impressive, in fact, and improved both the stereo effect and the overall clarity of almost everything I tried to listen. The effect is visible through the internal speakers, but even more so if you plug a pair of decent headphones. The speakers are fully functional, but does not sound as sharp or as clear that even the internal speaker IPAD, which itself is nothing special.
Creative, oddly enough, seems to be very aware of the flaws in the ZiiO and take steps to alleviate some of the worst of them. For example, wireless audio is an important focus for ZiiO. The tablet has a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth integrated with Creative own "wireless pure entertainment" system. Connect speakers or a wireless headset ZiiO is easy, thanks to a device built called Pure Creative Audio Android. It allows one-touch management of wireless devices (and classifies all nearby devices that are not audio, a nice touch), and do to speed up the connection with wireless speakers than any other unit I tested.
Creative also offers two options to solve the problem of low quality screen. There is a stylus included in the box, press the buttons for more precise and keys. Mini-HDMI port on the top of the unit is a better solution, so you can display video and photos to your HDTV with the push of a button. It's very simple to use and works reliably, but it only supports video up to 720p.

There's nothing broken to show the creative ZiiO Tablet, but does nothing particularly well with the audio quality is good but not better than other tablets, the screen is one of the worst I've tried, and the user experience leaves much to be desired. If you want music center, with a large display, supports wireless voice and it's cheap, it will definitely work as advertised. But it is difficult to recommend ZiiO: iPod Touch ($ 229, 5 stars) is much better music (and is almost self-compressed). Creative July 1 inch tablet is not yet ready for prime time, so it is better to save or spend elsewhere.

Sony Vaio E and C series Laptops Announced
Sony has taken the wraps off its latest laptop range, announcing updates to its Vaio E and Vaio C range.
Although not in the same league style wise as the Sony Z series, both the E and C range add some texture and colour respectively to the laptop market.
The Sony E Series consists of two screen sizes: 15.5-inch and 17.3-inch. The laptops have been given a textured finish - while we presumed this was so that you can find your laptop in a darkened room, Sony believes that the new texture makes the laptop easier to hold while on the go.
The Vaio E series has a number of features, including Blu-ray playback, a Quick Web button, HDMI output, Bluetooth 3.0 and a keyboard which has a separate numerical keyboard, so all you number crunchers out there can breathe a sigh of relief.
If you prefer colour over texture, then the Vaio C range is the one for you. The C series offers up laptops in 14-inch and 15.5-inch screen sizes and also gives you a choice of fashion colours.
Essentially this means colours so garish, that you need to fashion sunglasses to shield your eyes. If you want to be really trendy, like Shoreditch circa 1998, then you can also choose to have your laptops emblazoned with LEDs which will give your computer a 'glow' apparently.
Be warned, this glow may light up your life but it is no substitute for a real-life person.
If you opt for the larger size, then you can have a Blu-ray drive, there's also USB 3.0 on board and Bluetooth 3.0.
The laptops are also 3D capable – well, the HDMI port is, so you can play 3D Blu-rays through the laptop.
The new Vaio range UK release date is July, with the C series pricing from £599 and the E series from £469.
